I used a Rocket mass heater as my main winter heat source back in 1993

I'd guess it's one of the first ever built.

I was hired on as the maintenance manager at Aprovecho Institute in Oregon after Ianto Evans had moved on.

I had lived there for a few years as an intern and a renter and absolutely loved the place.

I was good friends with Larry Winiarski, Dean Still and Ianto Evans.

It was a J tube, metal drum riser, cob bench system built into Ianto and Lindas cob cottage at the top of the Aprovecho garden.

I lived in the cob cottage after Ianto and Linda left.
