Hi everyone, this is my first post. I have over 400 Acres of inherited land (Uganda)  looking for a partner interested in organic farming. It was used for cattle ranching years back but few animals left now and would like to bring it back to life. It can be used for all kind of farming all year round as Uganda is in the tropics. Land is not up for sale but rather shared utilisation with a willing partner. For More details please contact me at muzkays@gmail.com

Hi Musa, and welcome to Permies!

I had planned to move to Uganda until things went sideways for me.  Where are you located in Uganda?  Is the land on a 99 year lease and, if so, how many years are left on the least.  What are your ideas for using the land?

One of my good friends spent much of the last 20 years based in Kampala, but moved his family to Canada a few months ago and got back himself two weeks ago.  He would prefer to still be in Kampala, but he sees more opportunities for his kids here, so he made the move.

Hi Timothy, thank you for getting in touch.
The land is privately owned (It's Milo Land) so it's under no lease. Well I have done some research around Goat/sheep farming, papaya growing (good market in Neighbouring countries especially Kenya) ginger growing (also very good market in Neighbouring countries) rice (upland) maize/corn and sugar cane for sugar production (there's currently a short supply and market for it is ready) they take about a year to mature and can be harvested for 4 years without replanting. Your ideas are also welcome.
