I recently moved into a home that has an exsisting crabapple tre which may or may not be a cross pollinater to the honey crisp apple tree that I'd like to plant near it. Can anybody tell me which type of crab apple tree this is please....thank you in advance.

I don't know the exact variety of crabapple you have, but it has been my understanding that all crabapples will pollinate apple trees provided the two trees are in bloom at the same time. So, if you know what time of the year your crabapple blooms you can find an apple with the same bloom period (hopefully, your Honeycrisp is one) and should be fine. If you haven't been there long enough to see the crabapple in bloom, I'll bet your neighbors have noticed (they're generally pretty spectacular trees when blooming). Ask them. Good luck!
