I am on the phone with shawn now and we are having a bit of a discussion about the choices with lists.
Currently, there are a lot of badges where the idea is that to complete the badge, you must complete a certain number of BBs from a list. And then a sub-bb (of sorts) is to show that you have completed the list. So when you ask for the badge, you provide a link to the list.
Shawn and I have now decided that we will universally change this (sorry for the huge amount of work that this generates - shawn and I are starting to implement this change now).
To explain the change, here is an example:
Banana Badge
BB A
X List (complete 4)
BB B
BB C
BB D
BB E
BB F
BB G
Z List (complete 2)
BB H
BB I
BB J
BB K
BB L
The old way was that when you had completed 4 things in "X List" you would go to a thread about "X List" and provide links to the four things and ask for "X List" certification. Then do something similar for Z list. And then when you have "BB A" done, you would reply to the banana badge thread with three links (x list, z list and bb a).
The new official way is that when you have 4 things done on "X List" and 2 things on "Z List" and "BB A", then you reply to the banana badge thread with 7 links to 7 BBs. No more compound BB threads.
We think that this makes things simpler. We know that this is a mix of upsides and downsides, but just in trying to talk about pulling it off the other way led to confusion. We felt that this confusion would just compound as we made progress with PEP, so this change will, hopefully, make all of PEP a bit more scalable. If we have made a poor decision, now is a really good time to help us understand the error of our wicked ways! :)
