Autumn Olive scions (Charlie's Golden, Delightful, Jazzbo, Brilliant Rose)

I grow Autumn Olives, and it's the time of the year to take cuttings for grafting. I have had success grafting these using a cleft graft to some generic rootstocks.

I grow Charlie's Golden, Delightful, Jazzbo, and Brilliant Rose. Next year I should have cuttings of Jewell available as well. These varieties were previously available from a nursery that is no longer stocking them, and to the best of my knowledge, are not available for purchase anywhere!

I'm asking $5 per scion.

they are all over the place here in long island.
the berries are pretty tasty though,good foraging stuff, i just wouldn't want to spread more ,

Yeah, they can be pretty invasive in some areas. Here in the pacific northwest the seeds don't germinate well, so they aren't really a problem. A local nursery grew them for 25 years and had only 3 volunteers in their fields of autumn olives - not bad.

That is a good point though, people should double check that before they purchase these, thanks for bringing that up.

Jon - I'm glad to see that Hector Black's autumn olives are still being offered even though Hidden Springs Nursery can no longer sell them. I don't believe they are protected varieties, but did you happen to check with the Hidden Springs folks regarding permission to sell them?

Good point, I will double check with Hidden Springs prior to any sales. There wasn't any indication on their website that these were protected varieties, but I'll check as a courtesy.

I'm glad that Rolling River Nursery is offering some of the varieties. I was quite saddened when they dropped out of the marketplace for a while.
