Hello my new like minded friends! My name is DJ and I’d love to find a like-minded lady to partner with and create a fulfilling life together. I’m 48 years old, physically fit, college educated and live a simple, debt free, life on 11 acres in beautiful western Montana. I live in a well built, well insulated 36x48 building and am in the process of framing out and finishing the interior living space. For the past few years I’ve been working on restoring the land itself back to native grasses and am extremely happy with the results. I had a herd of elk snacking on the property this fall which made all the hard work worth it. This spring I’m hoping to get some fruittrees planted and build some raised garden beds.
Although I currently own a property suitable for the lifestyle I’m after I believe that companionship is paramount to a happy existence and would have no problem in combining resources and starting anew elsewhere. I don’t want to divulge financial matters but I’m doing fine on that front. I’m mainly looking for a like minded partner that dreams of creating a rewarding simple life together. If this sounds appealing to you and you want to know more about me I’d love to hear from you.
My name is Elizabeth and i just joined this post after googling off grid living which has been a life long dream of mine. I saw your picture and thought i contact you. You look so nice and happy.
Unfortunately i am in Europe (UK ) and not in Montana! (I rather be in Montana though- ironically one of the destinations i longed to visit all my life) I long to live away from people and to have a view on mountains,,,tend to my garden and cook for me and someone with me...(i am an awesome cook/
I am 47years ...(and proud of it) 5ft 11" and from german / croatian descent and born and bred German...I lived the last 20 years in England and have no relatives left to go to (both parents are dead)
I am slim, brown hair, grey eyes and have a good sense of humour...( I don't take myself too seriously...)
I got a lovely shepherd dog called Bess....and no ties to anywhere anymore...due to two failed longterm relationships in which both men decided to have midlife crisises and went of with younger models...
Let me know if you would like to talk to me ...i attached a pic of me....I dont have that many as i am not a selfie pic taker LOL
Hi DJ....can't understand why you are not getting loads of replies.......your beauty, your life style, the natural surroundings are exactly what I dream about.......under the circumstances borders are closed and everything is locked down over here also. Stay Safe! Have a great day! Cec
Hi there DJ! What a coincidence...I'm DJ too. Well, at least it's my nickname. I just found this forum and it is like a breath of fresh air to see that there are individuals out there with similar interests and goals. I am a SWF 42 who is college educated and does well for herself. It has always been my dream to live a simpler lifestyle but I have never found anyone who shared this passion with me. I would love to chat more. PM me.
Hi DJ, I too would be delighted to find a soulmate to begin an off grid adventure. Happy to give you details about myself via email. If you’re already with your soulmate then the very beat if luck to you.
It’s great to hear you are restoring your lands permaculture. I think it’s essential for our ecosystem. Well done. I am not currently a homesteader. I live in MI, in the city. I’ve lived here all my life and have been wanting to venture out of state for quite some time and build a homestead of my own. I’m hoping I can do so within the next year. I am 48, very hard working, and have that drive to build something amazing. Preferably with someone of like mind. If you think you’d be interested in talking, feel free to message me. Good luck to you
Thanks to all who have responded to my post. I haven’t ‘checked in’ to this site for awhile so I haven’t seen all the kind words but I am STILL VERY SINGLE AND LOOKING. For a more secure and private conversation I’d suggest looking me up on Match.com. Same profile pic as I have on the top of this post. DJ is my moniker on that site and Helena, MT is the city. Thanks again and best of luck in finding your perfect forever partner.
Good Morning DJ,
My name is Andrea and I live in Ohio. I'm a 41yr old, college educated, nature-loving woman who has raised two boys into two wonderful men, and who is now looking for a man of my own. I have been out on my own for a year now after my divorce and I am finally free to pursue my dreams whatever they may be. I attended a straw bale building workshop a few years ago, and building my own home is one of my dreams. I have been a city girl all of my life, but I have grown a few gardens, taken classes, and attended workshops throughout the years on permaculture. I found this website last year, and a few months ago I saw your picture on here. I almost joined Match.com in the hope of finding you on there, but I decided to start here where I found you. I haven't given you much to go on, but if any of this has caught your interest then feel free to message me back.
Hope things are going well for you over in Ohio. I was in the Dayton area a few years ago to pick up a truck I’d bought while I was hanging out in Wisconsin (my home state). Didn’t get to see much of the state though as it was just a quick day trip down and back. Whereabouts are you at in Ohio? Do you have a’profile’ on this site?
Good Evening DJ,
I am in Northeast Ohio. I have only been to Dayton twice. That must have been some truck for you to travel all the way from Wisconsin! Yes, I am doing well in Ohio. I was looking for a little piece of land before all of this chaos ensued. So how is it there? What are you enjoying most about your decision to live away from town? What is it that you find difficult about the permaculture lifestyle? I do not have a profile on here. I have not quite figured the website out yet, and I am not sure I would like to have one on here. I think I may check out Match.com and post a profile there. I can try to find you on there if you would like.
Out here in Montana, at least in my neck of the woods (mountains), it’s not chaotic at all. I only go to town a few times a month though and other than having to wear a mask at Costco and what I read in the newspaper I’m shielded from much of the happenings. Living out of town is a way of life for me. I grew up in rural WI and have only lived ‘in town’ for a few months of my life. I’ve never lived in a big city and never will. I have no issue with those that chose to do so but it’s just not for me. Some folks crave the faster pace and convenience of living in a town/city and others, like myself, crave the countryside/mountains. Here’s an example. I’ve hiked over 40 miles (on 4 separate occasions) in the past week alone. Today I hiked 9 miles in the Gates of the Mountains Wilderness with my dog and some ‘neighbors’ that are in their 70’s. Saw some beautiful flowers (wild roses, bitterroots, paintbrush, etc), picked a few slippery jack mushrooms, ate a few dandelions, saw bear tracks, saw lots of elk, etc.. That’s my life and what I live for. And it’s all free. How can you beat that? The only downside to living as I do is that it can get lonely at times. And that’s a big part of the reason why I seek a like minded partner. Someone that truly yearns for the lifestyle and is willing to put in the hard work for the rewards of nature. The simple life...
As for Match.com, there are a couple reasons I mentioned that that might not be a bad idea. Although I’m the type of person that gives zero shits what others think of me I also like a little privacy when discussing certain matters. And I also like to see a pic of the person I’m communicating with...
