SWM seeking female soulmate...

Hello my new like minded friends! My name is DJ and I’d love to find a like-minded lady to partner with and create a fulfilling life together. I’m 48 years old, physically fit, college educated and live a simple, debt free, life on 11 acres in beautiful western Montana. I live in a well built, well insulated 36x48 building and am in the process of framing out and finishing the interior living space. For the past few years I’ve been working on restoring the land itself back to native grasses and am extremely happy with the results. I had a herd of elk snacking on the property this fall which made all the hard work worth it. This spring I’m hoping to get some fruit trees planted and build some raised garden beds.

Although I currently own a property suitable for the lifestyle I’m after I believe that companionship is paramount to a happy existence and would have no problem in combining resources and starting anew elsewhere. I don’t want to divulge financial matters but I’m doing fine on that front. I’m mainly looking for a like minded partner that dreams of creating a rewarding simple life together. It’s great to hear you are restoring your lands permaculture. I think it’s essential for our ecosystem. Well done. I am not currently a homesteader. I live in MI, in the city. I’ve lived here all my life and have been wanting to venture out of state for quite some time and build a homestead of my own. I’m hoping I can do so within the next year. Hope things are going well for you over in Ohio. I was in the Dayton area a few years ago to pick up a truck I’d bought while I was hanging out in Wisconsin (my home state). Didn’t get to see much of the state though as it was just a quick day trip down and back. Whereabouts are you at in Ohio? Do you have a’profile’ on this site?

I am in Northeast Ohio. I have only been to Dayton twice. That must have been some truck for you to travel all the way from Wisconsin! Yes, I am doing well in Ohio. I was looking for a little piece of land before all of this chaos ensued. So how is it there?  What are you enjoying most about your decision to live away from town?  What is it that you find difficult about the permaculture lifestyle? I do not have a profile on here. I have not quite figured the website out yet, and I am not sure I would like to have one on here.  I think I may check out Match.com and  post a profile there.  I can try to find you on there if you would like.

Out here in Montana, at least in my neck of the woods (mountains), it’s not chaotic at all. I only go to town a few times a month though and other than having to wear a mask at Costco and what I read in the newspaper I’m shielded from much of the happenings. Living out of town is a way of life for me. I grew up in rural WI and have only lived ‘in town’ for a few months of my life. I’ve never lived in a big city and never will. I have no issue with those that chose to do so but it’s just not for me. Some folks crave the faster pace and convenience of living in a town/city and others, like myself, crave the countryside/mountains. Here’s an example. I’ve hiked over 40 miles (on 4 separate occasions) in the past week alone. Today I hiked 9 miles in the Gates of the Mountains Wilderness with my dog and some ‘neighbors’ that are in their 70’s. Saw some beautiful flowers (wild roses, bitterroots, paintbrush, etc), picked a few slippery jack mushrooms, ate a few dandelions, saw bear tracks, saw lots of elk, etc.. That’s my life and what I live for. And it’s all free. How can you beat that? The only downside to living as I do is that it can get lonely at times. And that’s a big part of the reason why I seek a like minded partner. Someone that truly yearns for the lifestyle and is willing to put in the hard work for the rewards of nature. The simple life...

As for Match.com, there are a couple reasons I mentioned that that might not be a bad idea. Although I’m the type of person that gives zero shits what others think of me I also like a little privacy when discussing certain matters. And I also like to see a pic of the person I’m communicating with...
