Quick introduction!

Hello there!

I've been coming across this forum over the last couple years while researching various topics, so I thought I'd join up and see if I can't get some ideas for my new property. I'm not a full-blown permie I suppose, as I am working on building a large annual garden, but I'd like to incorporate a lot more permaculture on the land.

Moved here three years ago having bought 60 acres of half pasture (+house, barn, shop), and half wooded/wetland. Currently raising about 30 chickens, trying to amend the clay soil, and crying over the four dead apple trees we planted last (2018) fall. Looking forward to getting some more maple syrup in a few weeks time.

We are a bit short on the typical money and time, to tackle all the potential projects, but are working away slowly on a few. My husband works full time in the city and I'm currently home with my two young children (4 & 1).

Nicky, welcome! I found Permies the same way you did, and agree that you'll find excellent information and good advice here. Building a homestead is truly a step-by-step process, usually slower than we hope LOL.

I, for one, would love to see sketches of your place and hear your plans.
