Hello!

We are a 30-something gay couple who moved to the Asheville area last year after living our entire lives in urban cities. We now have a beautiful 24-acre forested cove in the Blue Ridge Mountains, about an hour west of Asheville, NC. It's our passion to bring this homestead back to life, as well as it's original home from the 70s, although we could use a little help! While we would both prefer to enjoy our green oasis all-day everyday, the reality is that we have to work! And so we're seeking a passionate gardener/permie volunteer to live-in and help us this season, our first season, to get some flower and vegetable gardens going (we are serious seed savers), as well as three bee hives and ideally a small scale mushroom garden. We have a detached "mother-in-law" studio, which would be your 'sleeping quarters'. There is also a pond, barn, greenhouse and rustic "guesthouse" or barn lounge of sorts to enjoy. We also have 10 chickens and 2 Pyrenees puppies that will need some daily love and affection. Really, our hope is just to find someone who is moderately experienced, or a total expert, who would like to help us "run" a garden-forward homestead this year without the burden/risk in owning it

We're super appreciative of thoughtful design and sustainability, and so we're hoping the perfect volunteer will also help spark our creativity and create a truly amazing space.

In exchange for your time, energy and general oversight of the homestead, we would offer free accommodation, dinners and of course anything we grow in the garden. Ideally, you would be with us several months if not the full season.

Here's a link to our website for some photos, social media etc.

If this opportunity sounds of interest to you, we'd love to chat!

Kind regards,
Will & Sebastian

Hi there! I realize your post is a little old, but I would love to help if you're still looking for people! I'm in the process of relocating to the area now and would be available from next month on :) Feel free to either reach out here or shoot me an email at ashleylgnar@gmail.com

Thank you!
