This problem wasn't there last week when I checked the tree. Any idea what we're dealing with? The tree is already weakened and I expected that it would die this past winter. Instead it's loaded with blossoms. Can I save it?

New location. Zone 6b, acid soil, 30+ inches of water per year.

Looks like bacterial canker to me.

That looks like it. Do you think the tree can be saved? This is the main trunk.

I have no real experience with it, so I don’t know.
