I did the soil test found at Clemson University.  I followed the timing for measuring the different components.  I marked the sand level at one minute and again after 2 hours what I thought was Silt was marked. It measured high at first but then after 24 hours it settled a bit.

I was confused because there was no clay.

But wait!  I live in North Alabama and the load of soil I bought was dark red.  

I realize there is no measurable silt and the soil looks to be 50% sand and 50% clay.  No noticeable silt. I expect this is from one of the lower levels where the soil is dug.  

I will use most of this to build a earthbag wall around my blueberry contatiners.
