Hey guys. First post here.

I live in a big city and don’t have very much organic matter growing on the property to use for compost other than this ivy. My partner is allergic to the ivy (but likes its appearance and wants to keep it anyway). Can I grind up and compost this Ivy and expect the toxins in it to break down and no longer be a problem for my allergic partner? Thanks in advance.

I am allergic to ivy as well.

Sounds crazy, but but maybe make a weak tea from the leaves, and then gradually increase dose as tolerated. Might find that sensitivity goes down.

I find that vines break down into beautiful soil. But its a lengthy process. Some time in the sun seems to help ouls break down. I also add some nitrogen via irrigation. Then fungus, bacteria etc seems to finish the job.
