Any idea what the problem is here? Got transplants  mailed from johnnyseeds. Had bright green leaves. Planted them with good amount of compost. Watered. Haven’t touched since except added grass clippings as mulch to get the leaves off the soil. They’ve been dark green/purple for a few weeks now and some dying brown edges.  I didn’t harden them off so maybe just shock and they’ll push through?

Hi Strabo, welcome to permies!

It sounds and looks like transplant shock, like you mentioned.

I just planted some about a month ago, and the ones that had leaves did the same thing at first, and now most of them have started putting out healthy new green growth!

Best of luck with the blackberries!
