Feeding whole fish to chickens/ducks?

Has anyone tried this?

My ducks eat all my live fish in the pond, when you say whole fish i imagine throwing a 5 pound trout in the pen and the puzzled look on their face. Are you talking about fry? like slug sized fish, I'd love a source of small fish, i tried to get feeder fish to breed in the pond but between the ducklings and the adult muscovy they where all gone in 15 minutes. The trouble is anything small enough to feed out abundantly isn't consumed by people so it's not very cheap. Anything else is a bait type fish and you don't typically as many as it would take to feed poultry for a week. But I'd love to be wrong because I'd try it in a heartbeat. Maybe there's some industry that dries anchovies or something but wet fishes would be better.

Even a small amount of fish meal in the feed can taint the flavor of eggs.

whats wrong with fishy duck eggs, everything in my life already smells like poo. The amount of steamed offal my kitchen has seen via the dogs food I don't think i'd ever notice if it benefits the ducks. But it could be a blight if your marketing stuff to the folks. Is it true about people mixing down bloodmeal into feed for protein, i thought of trying it but out of all the rank smells I can find under my fingernails after washing them I don't care for the after dust stink of bloodmeal. Blood and oats is great but bloodmeal just seems to wreak of "made of cow ass" Now I wanna try these fishy eggs you speak off, it seems less off the wall than these urine soaked eggs that seem to be sweeping other nations.

I'll always remember the fish-flavoured baked custard I made as a kid. Retch. If fishy eggs aren't an issue though...
Saybian, I dunno if it suits your situation, but if I'm cooking up something extra pongy, a portable electric or gas ring outside is awesome.
As Saybian asks, small or big fish? I'd chuck little fish in whole, or boil up big ones on my handy outside burner
I'd definitely feed loads of fish to mothers with babies.

I'm thinking all sizes of fish, just a way to use up the few carp and such that don't end up for the table. It seems like a great free food source out of the pond for feeding growing birds.
