I like to think of my lawn as a meadow already, although as I just read, I am apparently cutting way too low... Has anyone experimented with ajuga as primary component of lawn/meadow? I have a a nice colony that I don't cut until after the blooms are spent to give the pollinators as much time as possible... I fantasize what it would be like to have a whole lawn of ajuga... a sea of blue...
Interesting. It prefers fairly acidic soil so you may want a test. I agree that it would look great! I wonder what companions it could grow with to give the meadow more texture?
My mum has a lot of it in some parts of her lawn. It's pretty, but I find it a little coarse to walk on in bare feet. Hard to change your mind once it's in there, too :)
Why am I so drawn to cherry pie? I can't seem to stop. Save me tiny ad!
