My persimmon tree (I think Japanese persimmon) is about 5 years old from a seedling. Last 3 years the new leaves are yellow. I took it to the nursery and they said overwatering. But we are not. PH level is 7.5. Recently I did fertilize the tree.
I have a different kind of persimmon next to this tree and you can see that tree next to this. That leaves are healty. What can do?
Thanks
Iron chlorosis perhaps? Supposedly it's more common in higher pH's like you have. Some of my persimmons had sickly yellow leaves as well, I tried applying iron sulfate. The trees are slowly starting to green up. In addition to the (relatively) quick fix of iron sulfate, the longer term solution is to apply organic mulch and lower the pH a bit.
