Those little tiny ants are called Monomorium Minimum, are scavengers that will consume anything from bird droppings to dead insects. They are predators of codling moth larvae, and also of fall webworm.
They are part of an important ecological balance and don't really need getting rid of. They tend to show up where there is a sweet substance, or in dry periods they may look for water. If they aren't hurting your rabbits, (I don't know of any reason they would hurt rabbits, but maybe someone here knows something I don't) just let them finish up what they are doing. They might help you out, and don't live that long.
And, BTW, diatomaceous earth is crushed seashells, which are like knife blades to earthworms. So if you put that in your soil, the worms will leave, and won't come back. You won't be able to remove it, so I haven't found anything in my garden that can't be handled some other way. Earthworms are our best friends as gardeners and inhabitants on this planets
