We will be holding a series of "Weed Weeks" this summer at our farm as we shift our farm from organic agriculture to a permaculture system. We will focus on permaculture basics, plant identification, soil building and community. We believe that a system that uses barter and community building more and money less is more sustainable, so we will run it on a similar system to wwoofing. Camping and food are free, and a morning of hands-on practical experience working on a farm-turning-food-forest benefits both the farm and the attendee. Afternoons are free to go to the nearby beaches (within a short walk or bikeride), to hike the many nearby trails, to visit town or just to relax. Yes, there will be hot showers.
The dates of the weeks are June 24- July 1st, July 29th to August 5th, and August 19th to August 26th. Depending on the chestnut harvest, we may have another in the fall. We will take 2-6 attendees for each week. Preference will be given to those who can stay for the whole week, but exceptions may be made.
