On the page for fiddling with all of your email settings, there is an item for this:

[ ] monthly newsletter

hand crafted update of the most important things happening in the last month ... or two ... whenever we think of sending it out.

Paul says that people that are part of our community enjoy getting this email once a month, and people that just use (or abuse) our community don't like getting this email once a month. Click here to read more about Paul's Choice. Click here to close your account which will stop the monthly email.

And I am that Paul.

I suspect that there are some people that peruse the forums will want to reply to something, so they re-open their account, post a reply and then re-close their account.   That way, they never get an email and they can still post.

So if you want to post here, you have to get the monthly-ish.  Or do the weird dance outlined above.

I made this site to talk about the things I want to talk about the way I want to talk about them.  And in a huge way this is working great.   About twice a week somebody wants something that is not part of what I have in mind.   So usually I just lock their account.

It sounds like a locked account is exactly what you want.   Granted.  You will never receive another email from us.  And you can read the forums all you like.   You just won't be able to post anymore.

I agree. Here's the link: http://stoves2.com
