Our first hügelkultur project: herb mound success!

We decided to try hügelkultur on our 1/4-acre suburban permaculture/native plant garden, and it's a great succes for us, with all of the (perennial) herbs thriving. Here's a snapshot of how and why we built it:

Hey there, Permies! While our hugelkulturs aren't big enough to qualify for the PEP badges, they're a giant success story.

Thanks, as always, for the inspiration and support. While we can't always participate in activities requiring more land, earthmover-type equipment and the like, we're grateful for accessible moments like this one. Hugels don't have to be HUGE, after all.
