I volunteered to help keep a local river park open for our local small Park and Recreation District. We're taking a shuttle bus and removing one side of seats to place racks in for kayaks and the other side for passengers. We are going to take the kayakers down to another piece of District owned property and they float down to our park. If you're solo you don't need two vehicles. Kayaks are stored inside the vehicle at night. We will be incorporating rentals in our business plan but just being a taxi for privately owned kayaks will be incorporated into the model. We do have some paraplegic paddlers who can get transported to a drop off point and we will help them at the exit point We created a non-profit to let the monies flow back into the District, but I think it is an idea that could be put into work by an individual. These shuttle buses are available used for 2500.00 to 3000.00 in our area.
