Greetings!
We are two women, friends and business partners, in our early 30's who are seeking to expand our knowledge and skillsets in construction in preparation for the building of our own dwellings and outbuildings on our newly-forming land-based Farm and Education centre. We are looking for a 2-3 month hands-on Mentorship starting as early as April 2021 with someone who is building a cabin, eco home or micro home who could use more hands and who is passionate about their work and excited to mentor and teach along the way.
While we both have some construction and building
experience we consider ourselves entry-level. We are looking forward to exploring the many facets of the building process from beginning to end, including plumbing and electrical. We hope to leave your building
project with confidence and the know-how to lead our own building of a micro home. We deeply value and hold in high esteem the many trades and skills required with building and design, and hope to pass along the knowledge shared with others on our
land.
We are very excited to continue this discussion with you if you feel like we could benefit mutually from a work-arrangement of this nature.
Thank you for your time and consideration!

More about our project:
Slow Hands Farm and Education centre is an inclusive self-sustaining micro-farm, education, and retreat centre developing with the intention to honor, support, and encourage the slow food, slow hands, slow living lifestyle in our community and beyond. We aim to grow a vast portion of the operation's food needs while offering fresh produce to
local markets for the neighbouring community. With the principles of
Permaculture and the wisdom of holistically managed land, we intend to develop a small-scale market garden and orchard that encourages a symbiotic relationship with all living beings that inhabit the land. Supporting the resurgence of slow living, Slow Hands will be a space and platform for educators and artists to offer a multitude of workshops and educational opportunities through food growing,
food preservation, natural building, woodworking, and the countless tools and skills that encourage a holistic mindful lifestyle.
