Hi,

A friend just gave me 3 peach trees. I have a small garden. I was wondering, do these trees like being mixed with edible annuals ? I have permanent beds that I probably won't need to tile, so would it be a good idea to plant those trees in those beds ?

Thanks in advance.

Pierre.

I think they won't like having their roots disturbed.
If you amend  with nitrogen to feed your leafy greens, you would promote leafing over fruiting in the trees.
Your annuals might resent the shade.

I would place them on the northern edges of your cultivated spaces, to reduce the shade cast.
Surround them with perennials if you like.

Peachs here in Ohio often bud out to early and lose buds in a late frost.
I am expirementing with composting rings filled with leaves, set next to trees.
If I still had a peach tree, I would set up leaf composting rings to the south, east and west of the trunk.
