I have been trying to develop a forest garden outside in Iceland.
Because it is a forest garden, it is a garden growing outside (not in greenhouse) and with perennials.

Has someone tried to grow such a permaculture garden at this far north (66º N)?

So far we have growing mostly annuals but we are now switching to introduce perennials because of the low yields of the annuals. Perennials that establish themselves grow much faster during the short but nice summer. So far we grow strawberries, blueberries, currants, rhubarb, lovage, scorzonera, chinese and jerusalem artichokes, aromatic herbs, sea buckthorn, silverweed, angelica, sorrel and nettles.

Anyone here from the north Canada, north Scandinavia, Siberia or north Alaska?

We are zone 3 or 4 in Anchorage, so it looks like you can grow more than we can. How long is your growing season? That might be the same. I would like to connect with you!
