Apricot tree branches turning black

Hi group.

We've planted our Moorpark Apricot late autumn and was looking nice and healthy up until 2 weeks ago, when it started to develop these random black branches. Any idea what it could be? It's our first tree so we have no clue whatsoever. The only thing I could find online was fungus. But I would rather not treat it for something that's not needed. Cheers

Looks like a fungal disease, I would cut out all damaged/blackened branches and get rid of them.  
make send a sample to your county extension office for type. Maybe someone here can identify the fungus.
