Saturday! We had our cleaning blitz this morning. It was snowy at first today but then the sun came out and it was a gorgeous day, bright and white, sun reflecting on all the snow.

Woke up at 7ish and joined Clayton and Dez in the kitchen, and Clayton made us beautifully fragrant tea in a tiny clay pot and told us life stories which was a great way to start the day. I was positively buzzing on caffeine after that.

I moved out of the bunkroom today so I had to put a bunch of my stuff in my car. I'm going to stay at Cooper Cabin for a few days! I haven't stayed out on the lab very much so I'm excited for a bit of adventure out there. We have another boot joining us tomorrow and he'll only be here for a week. He'll be staying in the bunkroom and I'll get to move back in next weekend (ain't no party like a bunkroom party 'cause a bunkroom party don't stop).

With the sun streaming in through the windows, I sat on the mass of the RMH at Cooper Cabin and read a book and got sleepy. It was a supremely awesome Saturday afternoon. Fred was chopping wood outside and called me out to see some incredible bald eagles circling above which I scoped with the binoculars. I don't look at birds often enough to know for sure but its feathers made it look young because they were still brown and white spotted rather than the deep brown I'm used to seeing out at Great Falls Park in Virginia. Apparently some ravens were harassing them. In any case it was great to see them high above us. The thick blanket of snow is really making everything look like a fairytale around here.

Tonight is the Full Snow Moon, which we will celebrate with perhaps a snowy walk, perhaps some introspective soul searching.

Enjoy a little clip of our peaceful morning tea. Goodnight y'all peace & blessings

Mini raves at Wheaton Labs! Gotta love it!
I can live without a lot of things, but I can’t go many hours without music.
