Hello everyone! My family lives in Central Florida and I'm currently bringing new life into an old friend's 43 acre sheep ranch. He's 88 and when the time comes it'll go to his kids, who don't want it, but in the mean time, I'm getting some Skills To Inherit a Property. My Youtube channel where I'm documenting the journey is Grazing Forbes.  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCftBMLItsIWcAk5zMZXfGcw

David, welcome to Permies! Sounds like you've got a fantastic opportunity going on. Does the ranch still run sheep?

Thank you!  There are 13 sheep right now with 4 ewes pregnant and about to burst. They're Katahdin and the owner just introduced some Cracker Sheep into the flock as well. (Thank you for the info on Shave Em to Save Em) The owner said I could graze my own animals as long as I repair and take care of the fences on the pastures I use.  I'm working on developing the garden area first, then I'll fix up the 1/2 acre orchard, and then see about getting some animals if I feel I can do them justice while not living on the property.  I live 20 minutes away and work in the opposite direction so I can only come once per week as of now. Though I'm a teacher, so I will have a break from my 9-5 coming up shortly.
