Hello all! It has to be Spring. I just picked up my package of bees yesterday to populate my new Horizontal Hive.

I was handicapped in catching lots of photos as I was the only one out there today, Tuesday, working on the installation and it's kind of hard to do with gloves on and also paying attention to what I was doing.

I hung the Queen's box in between the first two frames - dangling on a copper wire and then I dropped the bees in and set their feed can up on 1" blocks so they could continue with emptying that out. I also have a "frame style feeder" with a 1:1 ratio of sugar water waiting too.

SO, I did capture the Bee Package Box and the same box after having installed the bees. It was all but empty 1 hour after dropping the bees into the Horizontal Hive.
But, here are the few photos I have to show off the Horizontal Hive.

For those wishing to learn more about beekeeping there is a Web Site that I found that has a series of videos on various aspects of beekeeping which are excellent. I do not have any association at all with the site's business.

IF you wish to view them in succession, start with BeeKeeping 101, and then at the bottom of the screen or page you will see the next listed video. You can also just view them individually.

Here it is in link form. The URL button at the top of each new post does that.

Everyone is a villain in someone else's story. Especially this devious tiny ad:
