I ground up some country breakfast sausage with the old hand grinder tonight. I know it isn't fall yet, but it is my birthday and I wanted good sausage with some potatoes and cheese, beans and eggs for supper! It is sooo good, pork shoulder with salt, pepper, fresh sage and garlic, red pepper, garlic and a little ginger and clove.

Hope you had a good birthday.  

The first time we have ever made sausage was this month and I am chuffed to bits.  It is like the real thing.

We had bought a hand grinder to make all natural organic food for our new kitty.  Then tried our hand at make a traditional South African Boerewors which isn't  available here.

I did learn about blooming the sausage after the first fry up straight after stuffing resulted in the sausage splitting.
