So not really sure what to expect from trying to find a partner online, but trying locally isn’t exactly working. Having said that I do not really plan on settling for “close enough” just to not be lonely.
So a little about myself, I am 35 and pretty much a single father to a 5 year old girl, her mom is only in the child’s life every other weekend for the most part but is subject to change. I have come to accept the fact that this is typically a turn off or red flag atleast in my area. I do not smoke, but do have the occasional drink and brew/vint my own blends for healing and medicinal uses. Beyond this I recently bought a small house on a decent plot of land in Wisconsin which I am turning into a small city homestead. Currently I have about 400-500sqft of gardening space and looking to expand that by atleast double for the next growing season.
So some more about myself, I am working towards a minimalist lifestyle combined with a drive towards homesteading and self sustaining life style. I am gardening to grow my own food, changing my diet to fit what it is that I can grow easily and sustainable. I do want to couple growing my own food with foraging wild foods as well as hunting and fishing which I am getting back into the habit of attempting when/as time allows. Saying that I fo enjoy time outdoors, though I am honestly not a huge fan of winter, so I try to get out hiking, camping, and canoeing while the weather is relatively nice.
I do plan on buying a larger property one day and turning that into a proper homestead with a possible community on site. I have not decided where I want to buy this land yet as I am still looking and comparing pros and cons for given areas.

So, for what I am looking for in a partner is kind of vague but at the same time not so much. I would like someone close in age, but there is some wiggle room on this one. Non-smokers, I do have a borderline allergy to some chemicals in cigarettes when they are burned and I detest the smell overall. Drinking is fine to a degree, but I can not stand people that need to get drunk or spend more time drunk then sober. Due to the fact that I have a child no hard drugs either (this is what disqualifies a good deal of locals). Beyond these someone whom is interested in building something with someone that leads towards the path of self-sufficiency and doesn’t mind a minimalistic life style.

If any of this sounds appealing to you, or you want to chat more let me know.

Hi there, I saw your post and thought I would write to get in touch even if I know that I’m probably not the one, as I am really really far away... but we never know

My name is Mareva, I’m 36 years old and I have a 14 years old son who lives with me in Tahiti.
I’m an easy going person who likes simple things and dream of living in a small house surrounded by nature, growing most of my food, tending also as much as possible to a minimalist lifestyle.
I’m looking for a caring and open-minded partner that enjoys making stuff ( wood working, natural building, weaving, cooking,  ...) growing food, playing music, talking, sharing good and simple moments hopefully for the longest !

I like living in Tahiti but I haven’t met anyone yet locally interested by the lifestyle I would like to have so I’m considering living somewhere else.
The fact that you already have a child is not a red flag for me, actually I would prefer someone that already has one as I’m not planning to “carry “ another child. Sorry my first language is french so words I used might not be appropriate, hope you’ll understand.

I don’t smoke anything and drink occasionally  but don’t get drunk as I can’t stand it either.

So let me know if you’d like to know more.

I am interested to know more. Where are you in Wisconsin? I’ve considered moving back, but am also hesitant of the winter. I’ve been looking into homestead properties or communities further south…

I am currently living in central Wisconsin, but more towards the northern part of it in the Chippewa valley area if that means anything. I have looked at different areas, but some cold is a small price to pay for lack of poisonous snakes and few poisonous spiders. I am kind of playing around with the idea of building an earthship or modified form of one or if I build over time a house inside a green house kind of concept seems interesting as well.

Hello I am 35 living on the east coast with my 11 year old son. My goal is to design and build natural houses. I'm currently working on my PDC and maintain my garden and wooded land. I am specifically looking for someone who has children as I want more in my life and find it hard to date non parents. I am breaking generational cycles and want to raise conscious beings who will inherit the earth and care for it. I don't smoke and gave up drinking almost a year ago. It would be interesting to talk more.

After a short break from spending time on the internet, and in line with the start of the growing season near me I figured I would give this thread a bump as for lack of luck so far.

Much of the original post still stands true, only things to update is a more plant based diet aside from wild harvested meats. As well as some more expansions on the garden and landscaping to include more berry bushes and some fruit trees.

Given the location I am living it, not exactly sure what to expect response wise. But as with anything it never hurts to try.

So, with the growing season just past its peak, and more of my time is getting spent harvesting, foraging, preserving, and prepping. Figured it might be time to do give the thread another bump.
With my annual garden area almost to the max size I want it, minus some changes in garden bed designs being needed, it is quickly getting to the correct size. With more fruit and berry bushes placed this year and a few remnants of harder to obtain ones to be planted next year, the only things left to focus on is a slew of wild flowers to help draw in pollinators throughout the growing seasons. Along with putting to use what it is that I have learned from this season to move forward with next year.
Sadly with all the work I still have yet to find someone to spend my not so busy time with, still hoping to change that but taking it one day at a time.

Hello!  I have been holding off on saying anything for a few months now since I first seen your post (I have been taking time to focus on myself and my kids) but your post has been on my mind since the day I have read it. We have so many similarities and the timing of your lifestyle changes are spot on with mine!
I am 33, I live on a farm and strive for a healthy, natural, simple life - I love everything to do with nature (other than the extreme cold weather here), gardening, foraging, and so much more (Literally everything you said minus the canoeing (sounds amazing just never gone before)). I do have 3 kids (9,7,4) and live in North Dakota, but if this isn't a red flag for you then I would love to chat. Being able to talk to someone with such similar interests sounds incredible, even if that is all that comes of this. Feel free to message me if you would like to know more!

Theresa

Hi, I'm new here and I just saw your post. It sounds like we are looking for similar things in life. I'm 27F and have two young kids myself. I live not too terribly far from you in Minnesota. Let me know if you'd like to chat!
