Finally decided that I (at least occasionally) would like to do more than just lurk around here. Wife and I are getting tired of renting and now with our first baby on the way I'm finding myself researching various non-typical (by USA standards) housing options. Love all the great info on here - I've seen so many epic projects and it's making me want to explore further and find out what some of the ideas I've had would take to bring to fruition. I have been working on planting little conversational seeds here and there with my wife as the opportunities present themselves (namely any time either or both of us express to each other a gripe about our landlord) and while she likes the idea of living out of town and has even sometimes mentioned goats (although I think this has more to do with their perceived cuteness to her than anything), I think some of the home construction ideas I've been entertaining will still require me to put on my salesman hat. She is by far the more detailed-oriented of the two of us, so I figure the least I can do is work towards having a coherent plan to walk through with her before I subject her to my verbal diarrhea trying to paint her a mental picture of our one-of-a-kind idyllic country home that so far only exists in my brain.
