So i was about to embark on a new stove for my workshop.
This time i thought i might try a Matt Walker cook stove as I am interested in the masonary style. I purchased the plans. Looked into my material storage. I realised i did not have enough Ceramic Fibre Board.

I called up a store in a town called Nijkerk. Peter had prevously told me about. NO MORE. Well the guy from the should informed me that there is a massive shortage and he does not know when that will get in. Also no fire bricks. And he dared not say when there might be more.

He said that he had Calcium Silicate but that that is lower temperature. Maybe 1000c.

Does anyone know where there is CFB in NL or Europe. And where you dont need to by 200 sheets as minimum order.

Also, does anyone know if Calcium Silicate can be used instead. I think not but interested to hear opinions

Hi Fraser;
I think the calcium silicate at 1000C is not quite good enough.
I can check with my supplier of cfb if you like.
His prices are good , shipping in the US is fair but he does have a crating charge on cfb.
Shipping to you might be very expensive.

If its not too much trouble then please ask.
Apparently suppy chain is seeing disruptions across europe due to pandemic.
