Hi there!
It took me long to find this place for introducing oneself....
I came on the forum for the rocket stoves, and then I discovered the rest, and I like the level of the forum.

I am a 47 French woman who decided to leave south, and live south too. No man and no kids makes it easier, and I have chosen the more south I could in Europe, and a place I spoke the language too. Actually, I wanted to go to south America. I have been there and it was so strange not to know even 1 weed!

In the Canary, I knew half of the plants, and I have learned most of the others, at least all the common ones around. I just can't help it and started ID as a teenager. I am not a specialist type of person and I know a little of a lot of topics. I have unfortunately a strange kind of intelligence, so it not so easy to communicate, as I can be quick and relate everything so fast that I would need to tell 10 tings in a row, and damned stupid for other things! As a friend told me "the problem with you is that you are too often right".
I am quite good at having ideas, and at crossing informations to get sparkles and new ideas! So of course permaculture is appealling to me, though I prefer to say that I cultivate and that's all, no name to it. I know things about ethology and behaviour and learning/teaching and I have learned somatic experiencing. I have done some teaching to children and also worked as a guide in nature. Then I had some problems with pains in tendons and muscles and decided to go for a warm climate, and dry. I also had to change many times my diet because I could not believe that my natural tastes were so accurate, as it was not right in the main alternative trend.

My signature includes a link to my photo album, with a lot of sub-albums with plants and also some sceneries.
My place is great for gardening.
At the moment I care about renewing the house, that is in a cave!
I do not need air conditioning, I have it!

I also look for seeds,
rare ones,
tropical ones,
drought resistant ones,
perennial ones,
edible and medicinal ones...

I will for sure have hens, worms, and I care about having a compost toilet, solar water, solar cooking, rocket stove and biochar catalysis cooker...

I also like the health / food topics here, I am mostly on a paleo diet or GAPS diet, as anyway I had to stop gluten years ago (after looking for solutions soooo long!). As gluten is not enough, then I try without carbohydrates at all, as it seems better. It is impossible for me to be off meat. Vegetarian is not healthy for everybody! I do not mind about the killing (part of life, we will die... and wild animals are blessed with less suffering by long diseases) but I do mind the living of animals, that is so often shocking. So first the best choice for me was to not help the over-crowding by not having children, and to care about where I buy eggs or meat. I want this earth to leave space for animals, wild ones if possible, but domestic ones are still animals! Let cows eat grass!

Thanks for the help I already got (well, folks are a little on holidays in the stove forum, but I hope the forum will wake up now in September!)

Well I never know if it is a big vacation or working all the time!
Because it is fun.
But resort... hum, I make it more like a wild place. I can see only one neighbor's house.
Well, depends what is a resort for you!
