Feeding pigs has gotten so expensive we are going to buy another milk cow--it is cheaper to feed the cow and then feed the milk to the pigs. We will save the cream and some of the milk to make cheese (and then feed the whey), but even if we dump the bucket straight to the pigs it is worth the time to save the money...
It takes math for any feed recipe these days. Our recipes changes every time as the cost of different feedstocks change--whether for pigs, cows or goats.. We have gone to almost no corn or soy--mostly wheat, barley, oats and milo.
We are also going to whole and sprouting it as fodder.
