Does anyone know when Comfrey starts coming up in Southern indiana?
It's been in tall grass for the last 2 years, but has been where it is for the last 15 years.. I'm afraid being on tall grass for 2 years, it may have died out.. or is it too early for it to come up yet? I'm having trouble figuring

Hi Roy! I can't say for sure about Southern Indiana, but I'm in Central Indiana and Comfrey has been up for a few weeks at this point. So I'd guess that they would have shown up where you are by now. Hopefully the grass didn't take them out. Comfrey is quite the powerful plant. Maybe if you removed the grass from around the area, they're still there and can recover.

Another thought...is it possible the spot the Comfrey is in is a cooler microclimate than surrounding areas? I've been noticing that some of the same plants in different parts of my yard appear later than others depending on sun exposure, tree cover, etc. Hope your Comfrey shows back up!

Well it it about 30 foot from the mobile home on the west side.. now we are at the tiptop of a big hill and can see all around us ,so I wouldn't think it would be a microclimate.now it came up well the past few years in the grass, but hasn't showed up this year,at least not yet.. I'm just hoping maybe the diffrent varieties come up at slightly diffrent times.. I have the ones with the purple blue flowers..if it doesn't come up, I will have to get some because it is amazing at Healing Minor Cuts And scrapes and has helped my pets more then once.i had a cat once that had a bare irritated spot from scratching..i put Comfrey salve on it, and the next say was pink, slick and looked alot better..just hoping it comes up...

Maybe this would be a good year to transplant that comfrey to a more convenient spot if it does come up.

I am hoping it will still come up,

I do have plans to do that..me and my wife were in a bad car accident a few years ago, wife was flown to hospital, and she still has trouble walking and she has priority.. isn't so bad now, so now I can do it..
