What's goin on! I'm searching for apple trees a few to plant at my community farm orchard this year to help remember my community's past. I'm looking for ones that used to be grown by Native Americans and early European settlers in the 1700s and 1800s in the Great Lakes area. I'm also looking for more documented records and things of that nature to help with my community restoration from an horticultural standpoint. I want people to better understand their own history and culture in order to have a brighter future in this world and sense of belonging. Please reach me right in this box. Take care.

Blake, if you have Jesse’s email he’s actually working on a project to move a whole orchard of heirloom apple trees here near Chicago. He could probably tell you some of the varieties.

Is he growing the ones originally from the Great Lakes from both the Native Americans and early settlers? I'm looking for ones that have deeper ties to the Calumet region of Chicago and Indiana as well as the rest of Illinois.
