Permaculturists stand up and be counted!!! Once every five years, there is the USDA Census of Agriculture.

Do you produce a crop worth at least $1000 per year? Stand up and be counted in the Ag Census!!!

The census is sort of intrusive with the questions it asks.  I feel like many people want to stay off the radar.  We have to fill it out... we fill farm taxes, so we can't really deny being a farm, but if we weren't filing a Schedule-F, we'd probably not offer any info about what we do.

While I would love to add my voice to other people who do what they can to stay out of Big Ag or otherwise provide their own food and other materials, I think you're right.
I have this deep and abiding mistrust of anything that has Government Approved stamped on it anywhere.
Giving them more personal information than they already have on me, adding to the files and lists I'm already on, just doesn't strike me as a Good Thing.

Maybe it's natural to be paranoid of large mobs and other large groups of people who seek to tell you how you should be living your life.
Maybe it's not, but given a preference I suddenly have no idea how to manage a computer, have any idea of what they're talking about, and probably don't speak whatever language they are using.

It will give me the powers of the gods. Not bad for a tiny ad:
