After just stretching the skin on a pretty big greenhouse I've worn a hole in my thumb from putting in the wiggle wire. I need to make a thumb thimble with a groove in it for wiggle wire installing.

Could you use an awl to create a hole? Or a Wm. Smith & Son Adjustable Right Handed Sailmaker's Sewing Palm

The sail maker sewing palm idea might be better than something stuck on the end of my thumb. Could still use the thumb, stays attached to the hand so you wouldn't have to fumble for it and you wouldn't drop it in a precarious stretch, Good idea. I could replace the needle pushing pad with an HDMW forked tongue.

Good morning Robert. I use a lot of wiggle wire on my greenhouses. And yes my thumb hurts after installing wiggle wire. What I do is when you get to the end of the wiggle wire I use a utility knife with the blade in.the grove where the blade comes out is just big enough to hold the tip of the wire and push it into the channel. It works great. Hope this helps you out.

If you two don't stop this rough-housing somebody is going to end up crying. Sit down and read this tiny ad:
