Florida summer. Haven’t managed to get one cucumber yet without a worm eating in it. I’m honestly not sure if it’s possible around here. Getting close to scrapping the whole thing.

In the meantime, what is this somewhat aggressive looking bug hanging out? I hope it’s a friend? But I doubt it…

Giant hind legs. Black and yellow striped antennae.

Could be some manner of leaf footed bug. Hard to tell for sure, definitely a true bug. You might check out this list of the true bug species in your state and see if you can narrow it down. https://www.insectidentification.org/insects-by-type-and-region.php?thisState=Florida&thisType=True%20Bug

Yes looks just like the leaf footed bugs shown… guess I should’ve smacked it.

I believe it is Leptoglossus. My garden is full of them too, but they don't seem to cause too much trouble.
