Hi,
We have 20 plus acres of wetland. It is in the middle of a bowl area. A few years ago the water level of the wetland was lowered due to road construction. This year between the high temperatures and the continuation of the drought or perhaps lowered rainfall, the perimeter portion of the wetland lacked water. Lily pad areas became cattail areas. Cattail areas became grass and shrub carr areas. (Perhaps even the beginning of system collapse as many wetlands were hit this year.) There is a very old bog in the middle of the wetland which is both beautiful and precious to me. I know bogs are very sensitive to water levels, is there anything that might be done to help the bog survive the attack of the new water levels and climate change?
