really easy way to rename a link

I'm pretty computer illiterate, and if I could be bothered, I've been typing in the code manually so links aren't just a great big long url like this:
https://permies.com/forums/jforum?module=posts&action=edit&post_id=160498&start=0
Kind of painful.
I just discovered that I can click the 'url' box below the post subject line, enter the link url, then my new link name when prompted.

In fact you can also manually do it. The syntax is like this:

[url=http://YourSite.com] Display name [/url]
