And now borers...
On top of the beetles...
I'm about to just sit down and cry.

When I see that a plant is infected, do I have to just kill the plant and clean it up? Any chance it will survive if i can do surgery and find the worm?
Out of 20 or so patty pan plants, I have gotten 3 squash. doing well against the squash beetles, but now going down with borers.

Do I have to nuke them all?

Surgery. Cut the stem lengthwise, pull the bastard out and bury the injured stem. I've only saved one plant this way, the others were too far gone.

let me see if I can find better instructions...

Thank you! Surgery done, patients are in recovery...
I had to pull half of them.
That link had a line "You know you are a gardener when you will do surgery on a squash plant."
Well, you know I'm involved when I had the perfect tool to do it with! Inside curve scalpel. I'm a tool using animal :D

Thank you!!  :D

So you made a portal in time and started grabbing people. This tiny ad thinks that's rude:
