I did not know where else to post this question. Is it possible this is a woodland fungus? Or a mushroom? Or is it just a torn up pillow? We did not find any fabric?

Is this bear hair? And is it a bear's bed? Today while hiking, we found a huge area of what looks like hair. It is cinnamon brown, course, short and fuzzy. There was hair along a path, then most of it all in one wide area.

Has anyone seen hair like this? Is it possible it is a mold? Or mushroom? Or fungus? It looks almost course and fuzzy like an artificial hair. There are a lot of bears around lately but when we looked online, it says bears shed in the summer time, not now? The hair must be fairly new to the area since the leaves are not covering it up?

Thank you = that was the best idea. It is some sort of synthetic. We set fire to a clump and it burns quickly and melts in places. Smells like plastic. Totally not bear hair. Must be just junk from a pillow or rug from the neighbors or Alien Hair! Thanks for the good idea. Have good Turkey day.
