Hello,

Ive started creating a roof garden and am looking for some recommendations to screen the roof from the neighbours.  The roof is in full sun and I have two shallow planters on the external wall in which I'd like to grow tall plants.
At the moment I'm crawling out of a window to access the roof.  Has anyone fitted a ladder or steps to an external wall?

Hi, Amy

Welcome to the forum.

You have a great idea.

May disguise the ladder as a trellis?

I keep visioning the rood of my grandparents house that had a sort of railing ...

Maybe a picture of the building would help others give you some suggestions.

I asked Pinterest who gave me these:

Brilliant idea. I don't want to block the light to next doors kitchen but it would work on one side of the roof. Thanks!

Maybe on the side you don’t want to block, ask those people what kind of flowers they want to look at. If they get to pick then they are “emotionally invested”. Less likely to complain, more likely to notice if anything goes wrong. More likely to help if they hear you screaming
