Hi,
I recently moved into a cute little timberframe one room cabin, without plumbing or a septic system of any kind. It also does not have electricity yet, but there is a small solar panel installed, which I am planning to use for some simple LED lights and maybe a 12V socket. Heating comes from a small but pretty efficient woodstove. I think I would like to add a little outhouse with a composting toilet to it. I think I could manage to build the toilet (I think I will go for a setup with urine separation). I have a little woodworking experience from building simple furniture and hamster cages and stuff, but I have no idea how to build the actual structure for the outhouse. How does one start something like that? Do I need a foundation? Do I just dig holes for four cornerposts and start from there?
I have a little video of my cabin up on YouTube (don't bother with my German blabbering in there, I made the video to show some friends where I ended up). I would like to set up the outhouse to the left hand side of the house, maybe even directly adjacent to it, under the huge lime tree there.
Of course it would be nicest if the outhouse building looked similar to the cabin, meaning timberframe with white bricks, but a simple wooden structure without bricks would be just as well. Does anyone have an idea or could point me to some building plans for outhouses like that?
Thanks,
Jutta
