Most of the toilet paper carrots failed to germinate. As soon as we planted them we had a week in the 90's and 4 weeks without rain. Carrots wont germinate in those conditions (too hot) even with watering so I will replant tomorrow (With a new method)
Due to deer fence building EVERYTHING in the new big garden is late. Everything in the smaller garden (was fenced prior) was planted earlier and is doing well.

The 2nd set of door are now hung. This is how we will enter with the tractor and ATV. Still debating if I want a cross bar above the doors to bring that part of the fence up to the same 8 foot height as the rest. The bottom of the door (height) was determined by the Buick sized boulder the door must swing over and clear. Dirt and rock will be brought in to bring up the grade even with the boulder.

Once the tractor arrives I will back fill the dirt around the bottom of the fence but for the most part, this project is complete. The last step was to hang 2 signs (one we bought and one I made)
The lowest part of the fence was above the double doors so I made a removable section that brings up the fence height and acts as a sign. I can lift this sign off as needed should I haul something tall into the garden with the tractor.
Several folks in a few groups suggested the "Garden of Eate'n" so I used that for the removable section above the double doors.

Next to carrots Kholrabi is one of my favorite veggies to grow and eat. We picked the first 2 today. (from the early garden separate of the deer fence garden)
Billiard or tennis ball sized are the most tender. They can get pretty big but then they get tough. If you have not had them, they have a cabbage taste. I started these from seeds (in pots) in May.
I like to eat them in the garden right off the blade of a pocket knife. (A little dirt never hurt anybody)
I stopped at Flannery's (The sand/gravel/concrete place in town) to ask for a dump truck load of 1 3/4" rock so I can continue to fill in and level off the garden space. (the recent rain told me where all the low spots are). The driver darn near beat me to my place. Fastest delivery of rock ever. 17 yards and Ive been pushing it around this afternoon with my new toy..

I got most of the new load of rock spread but didnt put it in the future expansion areas. I focused in the bottom of the fence wire since there were some pretty big gaps underneath.
The last picture is what it could look like if we doubled everything in regards to raised beds and pots. I think I would have to make room for a gravestone when my wife sees that picture.
The plan for next year is to add just 3 more beds.
