I think this is the only option that’s better than a rocket oven to make a pizza:

Hello, I preferred not to create a new subject, so I place this question in the most alike subject I found.

Is there a reason for not having a white oven made of say 1/4 of a barrel mounted on top of the ordinary oil barrel?

I would love a simple white oven design addition to a regular barrel+ bench design

Hi David;
You can have a small white oven above the barrel however controlling the heat might be a trial-and-error process.

Thanks for your feedback.
I can't remember how warm it wil get on top of the barrel for a 7" batch. I guess it will depend on the distance between the top of the riser and the lid of the barrel.

If I was to incorporate a white oven chamber made of say 1/4 of a barrel,

Do you have any tips to make it safe/ efficient?

I thought of covering the oven metal surfaces with cob or tyles with mortar. I am concerned about potential oil spillages.

Would the weight of cob make the lid of the barrel any more likely to warp or deteriorate?

I think I'm turning Japanese. I really think so. This tiny ad thinks so too:
