Coweeta Heritage Center and Talking Rock Farm are nestled in the mountains of Western North Carolina, with abundant natural springs and a creek running along the 32
acre property. Just 4 miles from a major highway, Coweeta feels like it is much more remote. For 20 years Coweeta has served as a School for
Sustainable Living, teaching young and old how to live lightly on the
land, reap wild plants, grow food in its ΒΌ acre
raised bed garden, raise trout, build with
local resources, fashion crafts, bake bread in a mud
oven, produce its own power with hydro, and much more.
In a new phase, Coweeta is looking for folks to help recreate itself as an
Intentional Community dedicated to healing the earth and its
people, as a refuge, a place to heal, learn and grow for its members and others, espousing Voluntary Simplicity and healthy living. A safe environment free from drugs, alcohol and tobacco (with some exceptions), to raise kids and protect our health.
Plans are to establish a retreat/healing center to help fund its operations and outreach, starting with building necessary housing and meeting places (sawmill and timber and rock and mud on the property). Well -established road leads into the property, Hydro power,
workshop, major equipment, etc.
Do you want to be part of something bigger than yourself? Coweeta offers the opportunity to help yourself while helping others in a permanent, secure setting (free from some of the trappings of our modern world). Please contact Paul at
