After I paid the $50 for the canceled Mud event my card info was
retrieved and unauthorized charges made, thankfully my bank flagged
the charges made at unlikely locations for me and restricted my card
but of course my card had to be cut and now I need to wait 10 days for
a new one. I'd like to make other purchases from your site but I don't
want to do so until the site security is not an issue . In addition
responsible action on cancelations is to provide timely communication
on whether the (event in this case) will be rescheduled or not and
what the payee could expect going forward.

Sorry you had that experience. Card theft is a major frustration, so I understand your concern.
Since all Permies payments take place through paypal, we don't even have access to your credit information. Therefore, your transaction (and any data breach) occurred between your user end and paypal, and recourse and security assurances should be sought with Paypal.
As for rescheduling, we are working with Mud and Paul to get this rescheduled ASAP and you will get an email as soon as we have a new date and time.
