I love trying out new ways to compost animal and yard waste but I don't always have money for lumber or energy for digging dig and building hugelkulture. This was my take in Oklahoma of a keyhole garden. We had ducks and chickens patrolling the ground and keeping weeds like pernicious honeysuckle at bay. We save leaves in garbage bags so that they stayed dry for bedding the poultry and then we used those soiled leaves as the building material for the keyhole. It worked great!
