Had a lot of push back on Capillary Rise from one of the gardening sites.  I learned about Capillary Rise when Dr. Redhawk explained it to me and told me how to plant my fruit trees.  Trees are doing fine and it seems I have an automatic irrigation system through the clay in my ground.  
Came across two videos.  One explaining how tall trees lift water up to the top branches and another on the engineering aspects of capillary rise.  
A chance to NERD out folks.  may have to cut and paste to make these work.
